Quiet Please

Quiet Please - Here is the full size completed painting of Pewter, after beating on his brothers, sound asleep resting up for another round. This is an 8" x 10" oil painting. Pewter is painted fairly tightly, however I kept the cushions loose, you can see the brush work. Since the subject was the cat I wanted to keep the focus there. By leaving the background loose, without as much detail, the eye is directed towards the more finished object.

It is beautiful Holly. Pewter has so many subtle colors in his fur. I love pewters abandonment captured so well by you. Well done. How's the job front going?

This is such a lovely image Holly. You have captured the relaxed, not-a-care-in-the-world posture of your kitty beautifully. I love the streaks of pink on her tummy and leg. You are right about the background. The eye goes straight to the cat first.

Hi Kay - Thanks so much for your positive comment. I am in class for the rest of the month. I am taking a CNA course, dipping my toe in to see if I can handle it. It's been an eye opener.

Thanks Cathy - I enjoy painting cats and have alot of photos from the kittens. They were a handful.

What a beautiful painting! I love it when my cats sleep like this. I went to the zoo today and saw a kangaroo in this pose!

Hi Jennifer - Thanks for stopping by. Even as a grownup cat he still sleeps upside down.
