Here is the finished painting of Early Morning Light (formerly titled Thaw - In Progress). If you go back to the original post you can see that I worked on the color considerably. My goal was to capture the warm sunlight falling across the cool snow. A painting like this is more of a study for a larger piece.
I would like to thank Dean of Deano’s Den for including me in a group of artists receiving a blog award “A Passion for Painting”. Dean has a great blog and is a very talented artist. There is a sense of community about his blog, he responds to everyone who leaves a comment with a very personal & friendly touch.

Holly, This is lovely, well done!
Thank you Carol
Love the colors in the finished work. Very sensitively portrayed. Our show finishes today, apparently very good feed back but only two sales. Things are very slow at present or seem to be in Australia. What's the market like in America at the moment?
The finished image is beautiful Holly. You have strengthened it a lot since the prior picture. I love the pastel effect of the sun on the snow. I think it works well as a smaller piece.
I know a professional artist who makes her living and is doing OK. She does have a base of clients. However, I would say that this climate has taken it's toll on most artists. But I have noticed that we artists are inventive, many are coming up with smaller works and new ways to market themselves. Necessity is the mother of invention.
Thanks Cathy - This was out of my zone and the best I can say is that I kept at it.
