Back To Work

I had a wonderful morning today - a crisp cold sunny morning with leaves falling outside my window, a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee and the house to myself. Cats were napping, Lily and husband sleeping, time to catch up on everyones blogs and see what happened last week. Seems a little odd not to have been home for Halloween, I enjoy the decorating and always buy way to much candy for the number of Trick or Treaters that we get.

This is the completed painting of Pewter "Just Hang'n Out". Finally got to a point where I feel satisfied with the image. This is the initial sketch and this is the in progress painting. I always find it hard to know the exact time to stop working on a piece, I'm sure many others do too.

So now that I am rested and inspired, I saw some great art work last week along with some beautiful scenery, it's back to work!!!

Isn't it lovely just to chill out on your own sometimes Holly. I find it quite refreshing and I actually enjoy my own company.

I love how Pewter has turned out. Beautifully painted image and such a sweet expression on her face. I am calling her a she when she may be a he...lol I am interested to see how close to the original sketch you have kept. Sometimes my sketches and the final work bear no resemblance to each other.

Yes Cathy, Pewter is a male, he does have a face that seems female and I have caught myself many times referring to him as a her.

I love this picture Holly. I feel like I could touch the picture and feel the texture of the wool inside the bed. Your cat looks like he is thinking hard about something and I think the position he is in would only be perhaps temporary. Your work is very detailed and controlled and yet you convey so much emotion and movement. There is a special energy there. Well done. Kay
